behind the name

I've been told by several people that my blog name is confusing or doesn't make sense. So I thought I'd explain.

Around a year ago I was looking for a new blog name. I didn't want just anything. I was looking for something different. Something that would make people stop and think, 'why would any one name a blog THAT?!?' After all no one wants to stay inside a box, right?

When I ran across this one I didn't like it originally. Sure, it was different, but it couldn't work for my blog. The idea just stuck with me though. I thought and thought about. Finally I came up with an excellent way to use the name.

The box is like the wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia series. But really it's the Bible. In Narnia the wardrobe is an excellent metaphor of the Bible. Think about it, you walk into a room with a normal wardrobe in it. Who would ever imagine what it really contained? Or the amazing things you could  do and accomplish there? Likewise the Bible is just a book, but with extraordinary things to be found inside.

Often times when non-Christians look at Christianity they see it as small and constricting. Like the wardrobe from the outside. But as we (and the Pevensie children) know once you step inside the 'box' a whole new world opens up. We have freedoms we never had before. We learn so much more, and everything makes way more sense than it ever did before.
